Flowing Feelings
Pen
11in X 5.8in
For this piece I used a black pen on white paper and I created connecting lines. At each end of the drawing there are faces, 2 faces in total. On the left there is a face that seems awake and alive and towards the right the face has its eyes closed, mouth open, and tears flowing from the eyes. I wanted the lines to represent how easy it is for your current emotion to change, they can nearly flow into each other.
More Than A FIgure
Pen
7.5in X 8.6in
For this piece, I used black pen on white paper. I first used a pencil to draw the female figure and then I added the pen over the pencil. I could have just drawn a female figure and left it at that, but I wanted it to seem as though it popped out. The female body is capable of so much, and it is so much more than just a figure. The bodies of women are able to grow another human inside of them and that alone is so beautiful, so I really wanted to express that within this piece.
Let Go
Acrylic on canvas
8.5in X 8.5in
This is a piece that was not based on my skills. I constantly want the things in my life to be “perfect”, and I think it is important to let go of the idea that things must be perfect. Nothing in life is going to be perfect, and we as humans just have to go with it. This piece was relaxing and fun to create as well, it helps to let go of stress. I used acrylic paint for this and it is on a square canvas. I really found myself getting lost in the process and lost in the result of this artwork.
George
Colored pencil
6in X 8in
For this piece I had drawn a relative's dog. To create this, I first used a pencil to draw out the dog and I then added colored pencils. In the reference that I used, the dog had a red scarf, which is why I decided to use green in the background. Green and red compliment each other and I think the colors in the piece turned out decently well.
